About Function Generators & Synthesisers

Function Generators are a type of electronic test equipment which can produce a variety of different types of electrical signals, such as sinusoidal, triangular, rectangular and square waveforms. They are often used when testing electrical circuits and signalling systems. Many function generators also have the ability to generate noise and harmonics which makes them suitable for audio applications. Synthesisers are a type of electronic instrument used to create and manipulate electronic sounds using sound synthesis techniques. Synthesisers can generate a wide range of sounds from conventional instruments or soundscapes to completely original sounds that are only limited by the user's imagination. They are often used in music production and sound design.
